Sharks drop double header Game 1 Sharks fall 9-4 The Sharks couldn’t overcome an early deficit, dropping game one 9-4 to Pinconning. The Spartans put pressure on right away, scoring in each of the first three innings and adding insurance late to stay in control. Offensively, the Sharks showed some fight with 10 hits on the day. R Siefka led the way with a strong 3-hit performance and 2 runs scored, while C Zacharko added 2 hits and drove in 2. P Wonch chipped in with a pair of hits and a run as well. Despite the solid contact, the Sharks stranded opportunities and couldn’t string together enough big innings. On the mound, Zacharko went 5.2 innings, striking out 7 but ran into trouble with walks and timely hits. The Spartans capitalized on those chances to build their lead. The Sharks stayed competitive but couldn’t close the gap late, ultimately falling 9-4 in game one. Game 2: Sharks fight Back, But Fall Just Short Against Pinconning Varsity Spartans Sharks's effort to come back from down six runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 12-10 to Pinconning on Tuesday. Sharks collected four hits and Pinconning had eight in the high-scoring affair. St. Louis was the first to get on the board in the first when Ryder Siefka laid down a suicide squeeze, scoring one. Siefka began the game on the mound for the Sharks. The pitcher allowed three hits and six runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Wieland led things off on the bump for Pinconning. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and five runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking four. Leadoff hitter Bentley Inbody led the Sharks with two hits in three at bats. Tiger Russell, Marcus Hoyt, and Inbody each drove in two runs for St. Louis. Carson Zacharko led Sharks with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Zacharko and Inbody each stole multiple bases for the Sharks. St. Louis stole 10 bases in the game. Next up for the Sharks is a game at Beaverton on Thursday.
